Foreign Study Tour (FST) of PLSC Batch 01: Strengthening Leadership and International Policing Perspectives

A twelve-day Foreign Study Tour (FST) to New Delhi, India, 29 December 2025 to 9 January 2026, was a successful event organized by the Nepal Police Staff College as part of the Police Leadership and Staff Course (PLSC), Batch 01. The tour was led by SSP Ved Bista and included a delegation of twenty-five members, which included instructing staffs, admin officers and student officers.The main goal of the FST was to provide experiential learning by direct exposure to the organizational structures, requirements and working practices of leading Indian law-enforcement and security agencies. The curriculum emphasized leadership, professional competence, comparative institutional learning and international cooperation.The delegation also paid a visit to some of the leading institutions such as the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Headquarters, CBI Academy, Delhi Police Headquarters, National Security Guard (NSG) Academy, Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), Central Detective Training Institute (CDTI), the Presidential Office and Residence and the Parliament House of India. Cultural and historical landmarks were also visited as part of the program, which led to cultural awareness and team building.Important meetings were held with senior officials, such as His Excellency Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma, Major General Vikash Choudhary (IG, NSG Academy) and Commissioner of Delhi Police, senior IPS officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) and Central Detective Training Institute (CDTI). The participants gained useful knowledge on investigative techniques, cyber and digital forensics, counter-terrorism training, community policing, managing the public order, research-based policing and technology-based emergency-response systems.The tour emphasized the importance of professional policing culture, institutional autonomy, policy-making based on research, integrated control and communication centers and specialized training institutions. The learning experience was significantly enhanced by exposure to high-end forensic laboratories, real-time policing technologies and leadership-based organizational practices.Overall, the FST contributed significantly to the capacity building of officers, strengthening their leadership, analytical thinking and professional confidence. On the organizational level, it provided useful standards of modernisation, training improvement, research focus and future inter-agency cooperation. The FST is an important academic and professional achievement of the Nepal Police Staff College, which reiterates its dedication to developing competent, ethical and visionary police leaders by exposing them to international exposure and learning.

आज मिति २०८१।०४।०७ गते यस राष्ट्रिय प्रहरी प्रशिक्षण प्रतिष्ठानमा प्रतिष्ठानका कार्यकारी निर्देशक प्र.अ.म.नि. सुदिप गिरीज्यू र वेलायत स्थित College of Policing - Cop UK का प्रतिनिधि तथा नेपाल स्थित UNOPS का प्रतिनिधीहरुको बीचमा प्रतिष्ठानमा सञ्चालित हुन लागेको MPS (Master in Police Sciences) प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम तथा अन्य प्रशिक्षण गतिविधिलाई प्रभावकारी बनाउने साथै नविनतम प्रशिक्षणका आयामहरुमा सहयोग आदान प्रदान गर्ने सम्बन्धमा भेटघाट तथा छलफल कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न भयो । उक्त कार्यक्रममा College of Policing - Cop UK का International Police Advisor Julian Roadnight, Senior Leadership Trainer Police Superintendent Ms. Louise Galliott Thornton, UNOPS का Senior Program Manager Mr. Stephen Otter सहितका पदाधिकारीहरु तथा प्रतिष्ठानका निर्देशक लगायत अन्य सि.प्र.अ. ज्यूहरुको उपस्थिति रहेको थियो । कार्यक्रममा सहयोग आदान प्रदान गर्न सकिने प्रशिक्षणका विविध पक्षहरुको बारेमा छलफल भएको थियो ।

आज मिति २०८१/०४/०६ गते आइतबार यस राष्ट्रिय प्रहरी प्रशिक्षण प्रतिष्ठानका कार्यकारी निर्देशक प्र.अ.म.नि. सुदिप गिरीज्यूको अध्यक्षता एवम् त्रिभुवन विश्वविद्यालय व्यवस्थापन संकायका डिन प्रा.डा. डिल्लीराज शर्माज्यूको प्रमुख आतिथ्यतामा नेपाल प्रहरीमा स्टाफ कलेजको अवधारणा अन्तर्गत निकट भविष्यमा सञ्चालन हुन गइरहेको Masters in Police Sciences (MPS) कार्यक्रम सञ्चालन सम्बन्धमा प्रगती विवरण समीक्षा वैठक एवम् छलफल कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न भयो ।उक्त कार्यक्रममा श्रीमान् कार्यकारी निर्देशकज्यूले MPS कार्यक्रम वृत्ति विकाससगं आवद्ध गरिएकोले यसको विशेष महत्व रहेको र सो MPS कार्यक्रमलाई सफल बनाउन निरन्तर सहयोग र सहकार्य आवश्यक रहेको कुरा समेत औँल्याउनु भयो । साथै प्राध्यापक डा. डिल्ली राज शर्माज्यूले त्रिभुवन विश्वविद्यालय MPS कार्यक्रम सञ्चालनको सन्दर्भमा सकरात्मक रहेको र आवश्यकतानुसार अन्य शैक्षिक पाटोमा निरन्तर सहयोग गर्ने प्रतिवद्धता समेत व्यक्त गर्नु भयो ।  सो कार्यक्रममा रा.प्र.प्र.प्र.मा रहेको MPS Faculty Office, Academic Block लगायत अन्य भौतिक पूर्वाधारको समेत अवलोकन भएको थियो ।
